NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI) 2020 is a German led, Greek hosted multinational air defense live fire exercise taking place from November 12-27, 2020 in Greece. The exercise includes more than 500 personnel from Germany, Greece, the Netherlands and the United States (USA)..  During the exercise, U.S., allied, and partner air defense forces conduct a live fire exercise, establish a multinational surface-based air defense operations cell, utilize a combined surface-based air defense recognized air picture, and display all aerial threat locations. The exercise will enhance the combined U.S. and European ability to control defensive fires in Eastern Europe while refining tactics, techniques and procedures. The purpose of this exercise is to improve interoperability with allied and partner forces, and increase readiness through the integration of land component air and missile defense (AMD) capabilities.

Astral Knight 20

This exercise aims to develop and exercise an enduring regional integrated air and missile defense architecture, command and control integration, coordination and interoperability or air and land capabilities with overlapping operations into the integrated air and missile defense enterprise. Tobruq Legacy 20 is a multinational air defense exercise taking place from Sept. 12-27, 2020 in Lithuania, Germany and Poland. The 10th AAMDC conducts the European Best Defender Competition annually to identify and recognize soldiers that possess exemplary qualities, warrior ethos and tactical proficiency throughout the command. The events are designed to challenge and reward competition all participants. Competitors are evaluated on their demonstrated professionalism, tactical proficiency, mental and physical toughness. The winners will represent the10th AAMDC at the U.S. Army Europe's Best Warrior Competition and compete against U.S. Army units from across Europe the end of July.

The winners are:

For officer, 2nd Lt. Garrett Julian, a launcher platoon leader assigned to Charlie Battery, 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Baumholder, Germany. 

For noncommissioned officer, Staff Sgt. Ian Ledesma, a patriot launching station enhanced operator-maintainer assigned to Alpha Battery, 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Baumholder, Germany. 

For Soldier, Spc. Justin Rivard, an air and missile defender crewmember assigned to Bravo Battery, 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Ansbach, Germany.

European Best Defender Competition Video

The 10th AAMDC conducts the European Best Defender Competition annually to identify and recognize soldiers that possess exemplary qualities, warrior ethos and tactical proficiency throughout the command.
