Command Sgt. Maj. Gary E. Plotnick

Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Gary Plotnick is from Pennsylvania and entered the United States Army on 30 Nov 1988. He completed One Station Unit Training as a 12C, bridge crewmember at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. in 1988. He transitioned to the Air Defense branch as a 14S Avenger Crewmember following a 15-month break in service in 1993.

Command Sergeant Major Plotnick has completed numerous military schools and courses including Battle Staff course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster Course and Air Movement Operations course. He has completed all levels of the Non Commissioned Officers Education System and is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class #63 (Resident).

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (5OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism-Expeditionary and Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (w/Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (w/Numeral 5), Kuwait Liberation Medal ( Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Government of Kuwait), Combat Action Badge, Master and Senior Parachutist Badges, and is member of the Order of Saint Barbara and the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

Command Sergeant Major Plotnick is married to his wife Kenya and they have two children.
